KEY TAKEAWAY: Fall in Griesbach, Edmonton, brings residents together through seasonal events like the annual Pumpkin Walk at Patricia Lake Park, family-friendly Halloween activities and vibrant autumn foliage along the Golden Hedge Row.
Fall can be fleeting in Edmonton; blink and it can seem like the final leaves are dropping from the trees. But in the Village at Griesbach, a residential community in the North East, the season comes with plenty of reasons to get outside. From the vibrant colours of its heritage trees and Golden Hedge Row to the annual Pumpkin Walk at Patricia Lake Park and neighbourhood Halloween traditions, Griesbach offers plenty of ways to enjoy autumn. Here’s a look at how the community celebrated fall in 2026.

A Neighbourhood Favourite: The Pumpkin Walk 🎃
The sold-out 2026 Pumpkin Walk captured the imagination and creativity of Griesbachians. The friendly pumpkin carving competition crowned the top 3 most imaginative and spooky jack-o-lanterns. With boundless talent, the judges couldn’t stop there, recognizing spooky standouts, fearsome funnies and creepy cuties, too!
The Pumpkin Walk began in 2020 as a way for Griesbach Community League to gather community during the pandemic. Since then, the popular carving competition and pumpkin-lit walk around Patricia Lake Park has grown into beloved annual family event. A howl out to the Griesbach Community League and to all the creative carvers who took part!

Picture-Perfect Fall Colours 🍂
Year-round Griesbach’s Golden Hedge Row creates a buffer from the hustle-bustle of 97 Steet. But every fall, the foliage has a cheeky way of reminding us: “Practical? Yes. Pretty? Also, yes.” This season, the maple hedge was once again a backdrop for the quintessential Canadian fall family photo. There’s no question, the hedge gets most of the attention each autumn. But, with vibrant heritage trees creating a ribbon of colour right across the community, potential photo ops can be staged just about anywhere!

Griesbach Gets Spooky! 👻
This year Griesbach proved once again that it is the place to go to see the spooky spirit on display. From creepy front-yard displays to creative costumes, the community has achieved full-size-chocolate bar status when it comes to best locations for family-friendly trick-or-treating.
